Addendum to the Annual Grants Awards for the Financial Year 2026/2027
1. Figure 5.2 states “The underspend of £5,400 in the 2025/2026 budget could be used immediately in 2025/2026 by awarding it to a charity offering mental health support to young people in an area of greater deprivation. (Listed in Appendix A highlighted in yellow)”.
The grant panel have re considered this and now recommend to the committee that a lesser grant of £3,400 is awarded to a charity who provides mental health support to young people in an area of greater deprivation (listed in Appendix A highlighted in yellow)
and
recommends to the committee that £2,000 is awarded to a charity providing a river based social activity for those with disabilities.
2. Given the significant reduction in the budget, an equality impact assessment will be carried out and will be presented at the meeting. This will relate specifically to the 5 core funded charities.
3. Councillors who haven’t spent their Better Neighbourhood Grant will be asked to consider supporting some of the community groups that have been recommended to receive reduced funding in 2026/2027.
